Honest opinion: Baby carrying with big boobs (lol)?!

Ok so looking to all the big-chested (+plus size is a bonus in this case as well) moms out there for your hot take on baby wearing/baby carrying. Long story short: I did a bunch of research into carriers that are plus-friendly, and that I liked. I ordered the Tula baby explore carrier and it’s nice but I feel like: 1) it’s difficult and awkward to adjust and I’m not even trying to keep a baby in place while doing that yet 2) once it’s on, its mostly filled with boobs lol… like i doubt there’s going to be any room for a baby in there!if it’s in the right ergonomic spot in terms of straps being placed properly, the thing is a bit tight around that area and then if it’s loose enough to fit a baby it seems like it’s going to be floppy or the shoulder steps will be shrugged up and not fitting properly. I am going to try on a friend’s when I visit her bc she is also large-busted, if it’s better I guess I’ll order one and have two… just sucks bc the Tula is not cheap and In my mind I’m excited for baby wearing but am realizing all the ppl I know who did it a lot and loved it are quite tiny/straight sized and small—chested so now I’m kinda sad/wondering if anyone has experience or opinions to offer. We will have a stroller and other stuff too but we go out to a remote cabin and I was looking forward to just being able to wear her up there for the hike and not having to wait until she’s big enough and old enough for a backpack position to do so. Ok sorry long, looking forward to opinions!

I gave up on it. In addition to being plus and having large boobs I have some sensory issues and claustrophobia. I tried several and couldn’t fathom how a baby would fit in there and often the placement of all the straps was uncomfortable at best. I will say the baby k’tan was the closest to comfortable for me but I ordered the wrong size and by that time I was done trying lol.

My husband and I are both big and we both wore the Tula. He’s over 6’5” and I’m 6’ and both stocky. And I definitely have a large chest, especially after baby. The one designed for infants which includes a special neck piece for the baby for support worked well for both of us. I don’t think you will be sorry. It’s the only way I got anything done while carrying baby. And best of all it didn’t hurt our backs or make us sweaty.

I have a baby bjorn one air and it's great. lots of room for baby and myself! It's the only one that has worked so far. Got it on Facebook marketplace too!

in addition the wraps worked for when baby was small up to about 14 pounds. I am 14/16 and big chest. was also worried with most carriers that there wasn't space for her and my boobs. check out used ones. they are still great and more affordable.

I'm plus size and a G cup. I have the boba wrap and the ergo baby Omni breeze. I love the more structured fit of the Omni breeze and I don't get as warm. It is more costly, but very much worth it if you'll be baby carrying a lot. It is also easy to adjust and fits a variety of body types. Like I'm 5'4 and curvy and my husband is 6'3 and thin. Fits both of us

@Elizabeth did you find that the little neck pad thing popped out easily when it’s in “infant mode” (with the neck pad folded to the inside and tucked into straps)? We got that one and it seems like it might just be a little finnicky or take some getting used to… I’m surprised they didn’t put an internal snap in bc everything else seems well-thought-out. I’m probably over thinking it lol. Also, should have mentioned in the post that I already bought the Tula, so I’m hoping it does work out. But should be able to find an ergo or other more common brand locally, we just don’t have a large selection of choice where I live and I liked this one best so decided to order it ahead since I wouldn’t be able to try it out. I guess worst case scenario I could try selling it

I bought an ergobaby carrier, with an infant insert. My baby would sit in it with her head on my boobs. There was enough room, though it didn’t seem like it when I put it on without the baby in there. We’ve had to give it up. She refuses to stay still in it now that she’s older, but we got a good four or so months out of it.

I gave up trying. Baby didn’t like it- and I felt like my boobs were so crushed and sore which didn’t help as I am bf Baby will go in the carrier for dad no problem 😏

I used a wrap from Seven Baby and had no issues. With my youngest I was an I cup. They also make slings and they make them in different sizes including plus size.

I’m plus size and big boobs and carried both my babies almost 24/7 I live woven or stretchy wraps as it’s totally adjustable your own size and shape. I actually found my boobs to be the perfect pillow! Or you could learn to wrap baby on your back. With practice and safe usage you can do that from newborn. Is their a sling library near you? Feel free to message me I love baby wearing and have done tons of it !

I’m a G and I baby wore with a baby k’tan! It stretches lol!

@Floren we’re the same size and I’ve had the exact same experience, ring sling was great because I brought home and under 5lb baby and then once she fit into the baby bjorn I’m obsessed once my boobs are adjusted in it it’s like an extra safety boundary for baby 🤣

@Audrey so true!! I couldn't fit anything other than my boobs in any other carriers lol glad they made the extra compartment for baby!

I’m 1x and somewhere around a 38 G. I used an infantino carrier but basically I had baby high enough that his head was sort of above boob level and his body kind of curved around the boobs, but they are supposed to be a bit curled like that so it seemed good. My main tip is to put Ive of those flannel cloth/blankets across your chest between you and baby so you don’t get spit up down your cleavage and can easily clean it up and not have to change your clothes when it inevitably happens 😅
