Kendamil/perfect prep question

Hi all, Is anyone using a perfect prep with kendamil? We are just making the switch to a perfect prep from ready to feed (long story due to anxiety and still not 100% comfortable with moving to powder) I’ve noticed the kendamil tin is all in ml, but the perfect prep is in oz, we normally feed her 200ml per feed which is about 7oz, but we were about to up her to 210ml which obviously doesn’t match an oz! Do I just go up to 8oz? And if so how many scoops? I’ve read it’s 1 scoop per 30ml which is approx 1oz so do I just do 8 scoops for 8oz? It’s absolutely terrifying me to get it wrong so need to sort it before we start using the machine! I’d read online that the perfect prep does ml but I think that must be the night and day version and we just got the normal one! Please help a very stressed and anxious mummy out! Picture of my milk guzzler just for fun!

Hey, we have been using perfect prep with Kendamil since birth, yes it’s just the same amount of scoops as the oz so 8 scoops for 8oz 😊

@Amy thanks but I have the normal not the night and day so it doesn’t have the option

210mls is a 7oz feed. 7 scoops makes 210mls of feed. If you use 8scoops that would be too much powder to water. So if she’s been having a full 200ml ready to feed then make her a 7oz bottle it will still be the same calories as the 200mls ready to feed or there about.x

Oh and the perfect prep adds a bit more water so it will go up to more mls. Don’t be alarmed x

As they get onto more OZ the difference is quite big. I’d go by ML not OZ due to that x

@Mikki I don’t have the choice with the prep machine to do ml though, if I was staying with ready to feed we would stick with ml

@Abbie I’ve just explained it will be a 7oz bottle 👍🏽 it will go upto about 220mls as the powder adds volume

Sorry @Abbie I deleted my comment when I realised what you said about your settings 🙈 didn’t think you’d have seen it xx

@Amy no problem 😊 you were trying to help just we have the basic machine! I didn’t realise you couldn’t change it on this one and didn’t need the night and day function as she doesn’t feed overnight anyway!

@Abbie it’s so stupid not being able to change the settings isn’t it!! How annoying

Just commenting as baby is toooo cute.

@Saeeda thank you ❤️

We’re using the prefect prep with aptamil - just to add that the feed size on the machine is the water so obviously the formula adds some volume to the bottle as well so for example a 210 on the machine makes a 240 bottle and a 180 on the machine makes a 200 ish bottle. I know you’re in oz but don’t be disconcerted if the bottle fills a little higher than you expect once made up

@Annabel @Joanne thank you! We did a test bottle this morning on the 7oz setting and it went to about 230ml on mam bottle then when transferred to a Tommee Tippee (we don’t use these) it was just over 210ml so confusing!

@Abbie it is confusing! I’ve made it in numerous bottles and it makes about 10mls more but it does making by kettle too. I only started using ours about a month ago at 4.5mths ish. Baby is still getting the same calories wether 10 or 20mls more though x

Use 30ml of water to 1 scoop of water. So 210ml is 7oz and 7 scoops of powder. If you're increasing do 240ml of water and 8 scoops of powder. It doesn't matter if you're using perfect prep or not....as long as you have the right quantity of water to scoops you will be fine. The volume of the powder increases the volume of liquid once mixed no matter how you mix it so there will alway be more liquid on the bottle than you started with.
