@Alex thank you. We used the colief on last 2 feeds and I didn’t read it properly so we gave the bottle straight away but she seemed to be crying more than what she had been after the feed so wasn’t sure if it’s because we hadn’t left it or what.
@Charlotte I don't think it would have a negative effect, it just won't have time to break down the lactase. Tbh I found none of it really helped I'm just waiting for him to grow out of it at this point 🫠
@Alex I do wonder that if we’re just buying these things and they actually won’t work she’ll get over it all when she’s ready and older.
@Charlotte yep I think exactly that now I've bought them all and stressed over sterilising and expressing 😂 I've seen so many posts saying the same thing I honestly think it's just babies digestive systems take a while to catch up and we have to grin and bear it! Infacol defo helps with burping but then it makes reflux worse, then gaviscon helps reflux and causes constipation 🥴 I give up ha
@Alex 😂😂 totally get that. It’s good to know that there are many people going through the same thing but just don’t like seeing her crying and what seems to be discomfort.
@Charlotte I know it's awful and then there's always that worry that there is actually something wrong and you've not done anything about it 🙈 endless mum guilt lol x
@Alex 100%. Along with this we had a rocky start anyway as she wasn’t feeding initially and lost over 10% of her weight in the first 3 days so we had to go back to hospital. Every time a midwife has been round and I’ve said about the discomfort all they focus on is she’s not feeding enough (no matter what I try sometimes she just refuses the bottle) they then said we had to go to the children’s hospital on Monday because of her feeding. For the doctors there to tell me they had no idea why we had been referred as she is gaining weight every time she’s been weighed and that maybe she just doesn’t want the food 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. So it’s all been a bit stressful!
You could prep the bottles in advance and store them in the fridge? Then when she needs one you’d just need to warm it which will likely be quicker then waiting the half hour for the drops to work x
I found gripe water alot more effective. The bottle it comes in is just a glass one which isn’t the easiest to use so when my infacol bottle ran out I cleaned that out and filled with gripe water so alot easier so use x
@Charlotte oh for gods sake what a nightmare!!x
@Alice omg good idea x
You can give them together and I'm guessing it doesn't have to be exactly 30 minutes, when you do it with expressed breast milk you give it them straight away on a spoon 🤷🏻♀️
