Blood pressure

For those of you who were induced due to high blood pressure. What was your blood pressure reading?? Mine is ranging from 133/73 to 145-88 and anywhere in between. My doctor has mentioned induction due to high blood pressure but my doula has mentioned those are within normal range…I’d love to hear your experience with high blood pressure and induction due to high blood pressure. Thank you. A little back story: I am on BP meds and my doctor is not interested in increasing my dosage. I get weekly ultrasounds and baby is measuring 95% and passing all the screenings they do and saying he is perfectly healthy! I have no protein in urine, no swelling or blurred vision, all blood work is coming back normal!

I was induced and had my baby a week ago. They told me if my blood pressure went above 140 or 90 we would be talking about getting induced. It went to 140 and then 142 when they retook it. That's when they told me getting induced would be the best option. I think the highest reading I had before labor was 148. I can't remember how high it got during labor though. They did find protein in my urine though, which confirmed that I have preeclampsia.

Mines averaged 140/90 - 150/100 and scheduled to be induced at 37.5 weeks. She said if it got over 160/105 then I would need to be induced immediately. I'm already 1.5 cm dilated tho so idk if I'll make it to 37.5 weeks 😬

This is interesting. I have always had HBP and my readings have gone above 140/90 and my doctor is fine with it. Last time she told me if it goes above 150!

@Erica mine had never been high before 36 weeks (was always around 120ish snd 70), so it could be because if the sudden onset of it. She said she expected it to climb higher.

@Tessa ok so different situations. I hope everything turns out well ❤️

@Erica Could be different doctors too. With my first it was always 140-150 / 90 -100 nearing the end of my pregnancy but they said as long as it was stable there and didn't spike drastically, they would just watch it and not induce me until 40 weeks. But with this babe they're just recommending induction at 37 weeks just as a precaution so we don't have to worry about it.

My BP was 171/107 and around there before I got diagnosed and on meds. Now it’s usually in the 140s/80-90s before my dosage and 130s/70-80s after. My doc is letting me go to 39 weeks as long as it stays “controlled” (my call number is over 150/100) and as long as baby passes all her BPP ultrasounds.

Those are not within a normal range, normal range is 90/60-120/80. Maybe could be stretched to 130/80. My baby will be induced at about 38 weeks (if she turns from breech) due to blood pressure issues. My OB told me induction reduces the risk of stillbirth and other complications that can occur as the result of high blood pressure.
