Hello, does anyone have car insurance with admiral and know if they insist on waiting 6 weeks before driving?

I’m with admiral and I think I drove a week after my C-section but only down the road as I physically couldn’t walk that far yet haha and other than bumps i was completely fine it didn’t even hurt but then I didn’t drive again till I was about 4 weeks post partum and I was completely fine x

I spoke to them and they said I needed my doctor to sign me off x

My doctor signed me off and I was driving just before 3 weeks x

Ahh, so confusing as when I speak to midwives etc they say “it’s down to your insurance” but seems insurance want to fob it off to the doctors!

It’s more to do with pulling muscles or extra damage. You need to be able perform an emergency stop and physical get in/out without assistance, these are car insurance people not medical professionals it’s down to the dr/yourself to establish your ready x

I called my insurers and explained that in my area there isn't an official/routine post section/birth GP check up and what did they advise.... They told me aslong as I felt OK, could wear a seat belt correctly and emergency stop it would be OK. I was driving week 3, short journeys. X

Did you find out the answer to this? I am also with admiral and need the same answer.
