City living pram recommendations

I’m looking for recommendations on a pram that will be suitable from birth. We are based in London and don’t have a car so will be relying a lot on public transport. Also want something that won’t take up a lot of space when storing away. I have been considering a yoyo but very on the fence about it.

Hey hun not sure on prams but would definitely recommend getting a pram thats light so you can carry up or down the stairs if there are no lifts. Hope that helps x

Would defo recommend the yo-yo! I wasn't too sure and ended up buying a bugaboo! Live in the countryside however down in London quite often! Nightmare on the trains/ buses and for London. Often have people helping my up the stairs or takes so much space on the bus. Will be buying the yoyo as it folds up and suitable for aeroplanes, my friend has one and used it a few times and it is a dream! So light, easy to fold and takes minimum space ( 6+) xx

I am looking for similar. What puts me off the yoyo are the cheap tiny wheels. I was looking at them today at JL. I am very undecided what to get myself…

We have the joie chrome, it looks bulky but it’s relatively lightweight for a pram. We also don’t have a car and it’s worked perfect for us on public transport. It doesn’t fold down overly small but can fold down flat so we usually leave it behind a door x

Same as Reli, I looked at the Yoyo as a friend recommended but seemed flimsy. I've now gone with the Nuna Triv NEXT bundle. Is sturdy, can be folded with one hand and is light x

@Reli the wheels and it not being sturdy enough puts me off but I love that they are small, light and also great for travelling. So hard trying to find the right one

@Claire actually have noticed a few Nuna triv around and have started to also look at these

@Ellie that’s great to know. I might also check this out. Thank you

I have my little one, It’s nice small and doesn’t take much space

Have had a yo yo for my son since birth and it has been amazing ( 23 months) Not entirely sure how people with bigger buggies navigate public transport especially as so many tubes have no lifts. Cannot recommend it more highly also amazing for travel. It is so robust just back from a trip with 9 flights in the mix and it’s survived ALOT! We really haven’t looked back. I pack it down every night which takes seconds and it is such a neat item. Can you tell I’m a fan?!

It’s not from birth but is perfect for city life and that’s the bugaboo butterfly x

I live in London and have the Cybex Mios. I can carry it up and down stairs and in and out trains and busses myself as it’s not heavy. It’s perfect for busy transport and busy roads as it’s very narrow and fits through everything!

Yoyo has been perfect for us in London. I can still carry my 14month old up stairs in it where theres no lift! It’s not great for very muddy walks in the country though - I eventually got a 2nd hand mountain buggy for that

We were going to get the yo-yo because everyone swears by it but got the Joolz aer instead because it’s one of the only prams that folds up completely WITH the newborn cot. It’s made for city living and apparently the wheels are slightly more sturdy than the yo-yo. I’m also a big sustainability fan and Joolz production methods incorporate sustainable materials. They also have a 10 year warranty (or something crazy like that) which is longer than most other companies. Finally, the pram is compatible with a number of the most popular car seats including joie

We went for yo-yo at the moment just because we were given accessories and ended up buying the frame. We also love UppaBaby Cruz, Nuna Triv Next. My advice would be for you to go and try as many as possible and find the right fit for you! X

Bugaboo Bee 6. Much sturdier than the yo-yos. Fold up compact too, not as small as the Yo-yo but is great from city life

I went for a nuna triv next as I wanted something that looked cute and not tiny wheeled like the yo yo x

We went for the Joolz Aer in the end, as a few people said that the YoYo wasn’t so good with unravel surfaces (like cobblestones and pavements with tree roots) and the Joolz Aer can fold with the bassinet which I thought could be helpful for public transport.

We bought Uppababy Minu and are loving it. Compact , sturdy with a great basket size. Considered Yoyo and Joolz Air at first but in the end the Minu won.

Mum to 2.5 year old here, and expecting second baby in summer….. I would recommend the YoYo! We bought a bugaboo before my little girl was born as it felt more “substantial” but it’s very large / heavy, and takes up a lot of space. Not ideal on public transport in London and a faff to pack it into the boot of a car or store it away in a cupboard if you live in a flat! We ended up buying the YoYo pushchair when my LO was 1.5 years old - it’s so lightweight, easy to carry, and great on London transport! I never had the baby bassinet for it, as I bought it when my daughter was a bit older - but friends did, and said it was good. The only downside is that the wheels aren’t great “off road” (for example walking through muddy grass) - but it’s not that often that’s required in London!

I bought a pram brand new when we had our first baby, but would recommend buying a pram secondhand if you were thinking about it - you can save a small fortune, and they end up look pretty bashed about after a few months even if you buy new anyway!

My cousins who live in NYC swear by the Doona; great for city living
