Inofolic Alpha

I’ve not had a period since having my daughter two years ago. My GP has run all the tests and I’ve had scans and there’s nothing conclusive. I’ve been referred to a fertility specialist, but in a waiting list for a few months. I track my ovulation with Ovusense Core, but my chart shows that I’m not ovulating, which has been confirmed by my doctors. I know my body is able to carry a baby, because I have birth naturally to my daughter at full term after naturally conceiving her having come off the pill. I’ve since been diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility and it’s made my anxiety go through the roof not knowing why my body isn’t working the way it should. I’ve tried taking lots of different vitamins and supplements over the last year, but nothing seems to work (conceive plus, nua fertility etc.) but I’ve still not had a period/ovulated. My friend who has recently seen the same fertility specialist I’ve been referred to said that she recommended taking inofolic alpha. I just wondered if anyone has a positive experience with this and triggering periods/ovulation? I’m really hoping that the consultant will try me on medication before suggesting IVF and I want to try everything I can to help my body spring into action. But like most of us these days, I don’t have an endless pot of money and I need some advice about what seems to work, and what is a waste of time. TIA x

Hey lovely lady, it took me and hubby 4 and a half years to conceive our son. The doctors did tests etc. In the end it turned out that I had a very very high prolactin level, over 2000! They thought maybe I had a tumour in my brain so they did a mri and nothing. Did more bloods, it turned out I had hypoprolactinemia which they gave me bromocriptine for. 3 months later I got pregnant, I lost that one, literally the next cycle I got pregnant with my son. So twice in a row! When we try again I will ask to get tested if we have trouble again. Maybe you should have all your hormones tested? It could be as simple as that! My son Cameron is 13 months now and time I'd not on our side as I'm 37 this year and my husband will be 42 so we do want them close in age. Can you keep us updated how you're doing? Xx

@Bethany hey, thank you so much for sharing. I’m so sorry you had such a rollercoaster to get the answers you needed, but huge congratulations on your baby boy! Definitely worth the wait 🩵 So I have had every single hormone test done, but there’s nothing indicative of a reason for anovulation. I have had scans (internal and external) done too and still nothing. I’ve conceived naturally before, so I’m hoping that it’s just that my body needs a little push to ovulate and fingers crossed they’ll put me on something like clomid to try and trigger it, but I was hoping to try other holistic approaches too, such as taking inofolic alpha just in case it increases my chances. Fingers crossed for us both xx

Hi, I came off the pill in November to conceive for the first time and haven’t had a period since. My gp did tests and I have high testosterone and my right ovary is polycystic, they said based on that I probably have PCOS. No other symptoms, and I was fine before going on the pill with very regular periods. I’ve now been referred to a fertility specialist. I’m also hoping to be put on clomid or something to induce ovulation, but I don’t know whether that will be possible! I started inofolic alpha about a week ago and I get cramps more regularly now but I don’t know if that means anything! Hope you both get some answers soon x
