Percentiles

If you lined up 100 babies by size yours would be number 44 in the line. 44 is good. Ours was estimated on scans as 5th, but actually was born 2nd so tiny!

At my 20 week scan I got told my baby was measuring small but still in the normal range I think it was 29%

@Abbie did they say anything about how small your baby was at your scans

@Charlotte yes, from 29 weeks when I had a private 4d scan they told me baby was around 5th centile, I then had a midwife appointment at 32 weeks (not with my normal midwife as she was sick) she measured my tummy as not having grown at all in 2 weeks so sent me for a scan and they said baby was around 5th centile and scared me silly about stillbirth etc so from that point on a didn’t really sleep! Was induced at 37 weeks due to her size and when she was born 5 days later she was actually even smaller and only on 2nd, other than a bit of jaundice perfectly healthy though! And tbh I was a small baby myself but they didn’t seem to care about that! She was born at 37 +5 weighing 5lb 9oz and I was born at 41 + 6 weighing 5lb 14oz so imagine if they had left her to ‘cook’ she’d have been bigger than me.

@Abbie I'm sorry that happened yes I was a small baby my sister was even smaller and I don't think I'll have a big baby I'm around 21 weeks and I've only just started showing but it is also my first pregnancy and I'm pretty small anyway they always try to scare you

@Abbie I pretty much had this exact experience my LG was born at 5lb 5oz when they predicted about 5lb 9oz. I’m Now pregnant with my 2nd and will be having growth scans from 28 weeks and been told currently on 35th centile. Although swear my own weight is off the chart somewhere

@Abbie this is always my favorite explanation. I didn’t get it until my doctor described it like a prison line up lol
