Formula feeding in the night

I`m currently making the bottles up the old fashion way (boiling the kettle waiting 30 mins). However, through the night this can be quite tiring when having to set an alarm twice to set the kettle going and then to make the bottle up. I have the nuby and thought if I set the kettle going before I change her then fill the bottle to the required amount then pour the water into the nuby but leave like an oz in the bottle so it acts like an hot shot then cool the remaining water in the nuby and then make the bottle up as normal. Does anyone make their bottles up like this? Would it make the recommended guidelines? Thanks

I used to make up enough bottles for the day on a morning/evening and fridge them (I say I… this was my husbands job but you get my drift 🤣) then warm them up to the required temperature when baby was ready for a feed x

At first I was pre making night bottles and placing at the back of fridge but I know many will advice against it but I did and then I went into putting the water after 30 minutes in a flask with the measured out formula in a formula tub and made up the bottle in bedroom at night and ran the bottle under bathroom tap to cool it down abit … my flask lasts 6-9 hours through the night

I just fill up a thermal flask right before bed, and have a jug of cold water I stand the bottle in..by time I’ve had a wee and changes her nappy it’s ready.. And also measure formula into pots. X

To be honest I’ve just boiled water and added the right amount to my babies bottles brought them upstairs with me and added formula when needed, no hot shot required. A lot of mums will probably shame me for this but it’s how my mum did it with all 3 of her kids and it’s worked out fine for my boy who’s now 17 months 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t blame ya, if you listening to all guidelines it get ridiculous! X

Thank you everyone for the advice I think i`ve gone down a rabbit hole! So this has been really helpful! Can anyone recommend a good flask? X

I use a flask with hot water and his baby water and a can of formula by my bed. I use that. And when the flask is empty, I had a bottle warmer as well and I put it on the highest setting so it’ll be water by the time I change his diaper.

@Sadie I just got one from Amazon x

I used to do half n half so it didn't take so long. So for instance. My lo is on 5oz. When I sterilise the bottles I out 2 oz of boiled water in the bottle and out it in the fridge. Then when lo wakes I boil the kettle and fill it up to 5 and add the formula. It's usually then at the right temp to serve. Now I have a perfect prep machine so justvuse that x

We bought the tommee tippee perfect prep machine and it's great

I just use two flasks. One is boiling and one is cooled boiled. I fill them in the morning and then before bed so it's still hot, then mix the two and add formula when needed. Originally we were making them and putting them in the fridge but the bottle warmer took longer than actually making them.

I have large bottles and using small ones atm so during the day I’ll boil the kettle, fill all the large bottles and then they’re cool once I need to feed him so I pop them in the microwave and then add formula
