How to know when to size up nappies

My son is 3 weeks old and slowly starting to fit in 000 clothes and this morning when I grabbed him from his bassinet he had soiled his clothing I am wondering if that’s a sign of needing his nappies to be the next size up or my self or my partner didn’t put it on right

if you’re experiencing blow outs often or leaks it’s probably time to size up :)

If he does it during the day as well, I’d suggest possibly. Also if you feel like you don’t have any room to give his thighs some space. My daughter sometimes pees though a nighttime diaper at night just because she moves the inside of it over. But other than that she’s been fine. Size 6 and she’s almost 2😂

I do believe we switched her around that time tho 3/4 weeks

Yes you can size up if you are getting blowouts or if they leave marks. As a cloth mama I have NEVER had a blowout though, nomatter what size or brand disposable u wanna use if you want to avoid all future blowouts (and esp when going out- car seat, pram, sling etc) if you get some cloth diaper covers and put that over the disposable, every change, you’ll have peace of mind of no more blowouts, ever. They have real elastics, and that’s what helps keep poop in, same as reusable swim nappies

Just buy a pack of the next size and try it on. If it looks loose then you haven't lost anything because you can just store it until it fits

I do mine off the weight suggestion of the nappies my son is 5.6kg so I have him in a size 2 and when he weighs 6kg I’ll put him up to size 3 as that is the lowest weight of size 3 x
