Baby porridge

My LO has aptamil formula, do I need to use aptamil porridge or would I be able to use another one like cow and gate? I only ask because I can’t find any aptamil porridge in supermarkets near me. Thank you

Mine usually has Sma formula but I use cow&gate porridge because of the same thing your saying couldn’t find any Sma porridge he’s been fine with it :)

@Kayleigh great thank you!☺️

You can use normal ready brek. Doesn’t need to be baby porridge x

@Nikki doesn't that have more sugar?

I'm wondering the same, I think I will try aptamil to be safe xx

We tried C&G baby porridge but it didn’t agree with the little one’s gut so we are using regular rolled eats (the fast microwave ones) now mixed with berries, carrot etc. My little guy has been fine on this.

@Laura there is nothing in it except oats and added vitamins. To be honest you’re more likely to find added stuff in tree baby porridges I would say. A lot more cost effective too buying plain oats, ready brek for example.

@Laura no, nowhere near! Aptamil creamed porridge has 6g of sugar per serving made with water and Ready Brek has 0g of sugar per serving made with water. You can make it with your babies milk instead of water too

Just buy normal porridge. Or you can get super smooth if you're worried about the texture. You can make it with whole milk too, if you'd rather. Save some £££

@Nikki oh I get it now :) thank you for clarifying. I was thinking about the breakfast porridge we have at home that's just all sugar 🤦‍♀️👀 Yeah rolled oats are probably best then, glad they work well for your baby. I might try it too for Olivia. Xx

@Courtney crazy how they make it sound like you need to buy 'baby' ones!! Why do they add so much sugar! I like the idea if making it with baby's milk, thank you xx

Am pretty sure Aptamil is the same as C&G, I just buy ready break and make it with formula much cheaper and everything is green on the traffic light system. X

Weetabix with formula or rolled oats blended with formula is also just as good 😊 much cheaper too
