Oh wait do you mean cooling them down like quickly when baby needs a feed? I use a prep machine so we never need to cool bottles but if I need to I usually just place it under the tap with cold running water which cools it quickly. It’s not submerged then so no water should get in but water shouldn’t be getting in the bottles anyway even if submerged x
I’ve heard people say to relive the top part (teat and Lid) when cooling in water as it breaks the suction so stops water coming up
We just put them straight in the fridge, but I think if you take the lid and teat off when you cool them, water shouldn’t get in x
i’ve never had a problem with mam bottles letting water in? i usually sit in a jug to cool with the tap running so unsure, is the white seal clicked in properly? as that’s the only reason i could think of water getting into the milk x
We just put them in the fridge
We didn’t have a issue with that, make sure the plastic in the bottom is pushed in properly. You can also just keep some pre boiled water cooled in a flask and then add it to ur boiled water and formula to make the bottle at the perfect temp
You either have to take the top part off or you can put the bottle in a zippy freezer bag and then put in water
You have to take the lid off the bottle x
Loosen the lid or remove it and stick it in a jug of water and it shouldn't have suction then, but the water only goes between the white seal and the plastic part it doesn't go in to the milk, just make sure the seal is pushed right down. MAM bottles are so much fuss but they are lifesaver as they are self sterilising and my Steriliser has broke 🤣
I remember this. I used to use them only for instant milk or pumped milk i’d warmed in bag then pour in, for this reason. But my friend recommended Nuby bottle cooler i think she said £40 ish in Boots. I never bought as I was mostly BF but she swore by it
I have noticed this too, wish I knew before I bought so many. However we bought a nuby rapid cool and it cools the bottles down in less than two minutes x
I don’t have this issue. If the white seal is in properly this shouldn’t happen!
@Jenna apparently its a known thing. It creates some kind of vaccum that sucks the water in if I remember. I am not sure if true or not but... I didn’t wanna risk it. Each to their own though.
@Stef i have been warming bottles in water since mt baby was a newborn and the volume of the water has never once changed. I’ve also cooled bottles in cold water and it has never done this either🤷🏼♀️

@Jenna Good for you! https://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/drop-clinic-984/bottle-feeding-559/1647878-mam-anti-colic-bottles-letting-water.html# https://community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a29300081/mam-anti-colic-bottles-coolingsucking-water
You can still do this but instead of submerging them in water, just let the water run on the bottle to cool it, this way the extra water doesn’t get it x
Take the lid off
You’re supposed to take the lid off the MAM bottles when placing them in water which should stop any water coming in. Also though, did you know that you can just put them straight into the fridge x
However saying what I’ve just said, when I used to warm my bottles up in a jug of hot water I never actually noticed any increase in volume and I didn’t take the lid off. If it was it must have been the tiniest amount (it wouldn’t really be much of an issue anyway as the water was boiling, so was sterile) x
Can you just top up with boiling water when you need them? We had the tommee tipee machine that makes them to order i would 100% recommend
Can you not just make the bottles and wait for them to cool down slightly then store them in the fridge?
