Mamas and Papas Appointment

Hi everyone! My husband and I have an appointment at Mamas and Papas today to test out some pushchairs and look at travel systems. Soon to be first time parents so learning as we go. Any tips or questions or things to look out for that may be helpful?

Hi Tasmin! Make sure it’s easy to collapse and put in a car, and also if you’re using public transport in London, make sure it’s not too bulky and heavy and hard to get on trains and busses. Good luck!

Definitely choose suitable wheels for where you live🙈that’s definitely one thing we had to look for xx

Don't be pressured into buying anything whilst you're there, we have bought a Mamas and Papas travel system from Baby Planet and were cheaper than in Mamas and Papas for exact same thing so we ordered it online x

We bought the mamas and papas ocarro online as over half price of what they charge on baby planet! I second don't be pressured into buying there and then :)

John Lewis do appointments but you get discount off certain amount spends, 10% off £0100. 15% off £1500. M&P is a voucher back I used John Lewis for mine

Definitely look at the wheels if you use public transport regularly because I struggled getting oyster 3 with another pushchair on the bus because of big back wheels

If you find anything cheaper online, Mamas and Papas will price match 🥰

I've got one of these appointments in a couple of weeks - let me know how it goes ☺️

Thanks everyone for the advice. Just at update for those interested - It was a very good appointment, we went to one of the smaller Mamas and Papas so the guy was really helpful and showed us all the different types, told us to go to the flagship store to have a look at some of the others that they didn’t have but would recommend based on what we liked, etc. We got a chance to ride the pushchairs around the store and collapse them and set them up and get familiar with it, but also look at car seats too. They offer delayed delivery to home or store collection too which we will opt for. We will be looking online now that we have a better idea of weight and features for some cheaper deals. We may also try an appointment with John Lewis too just so we’ve covered all bases.

Just a fyi - John Lewis appointment was soo good! They even have a discount so out icandy actually worked out £300+ cheaper with the discount x

We found our pram and car seat at mamas and papas but ended up buying it from John Lewis cause it was the same price and we got a free new parent pack with it https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-new-parent-starter-kit-box/p110679064
