Omeprazole & Constipation
Hey ladies looking for if anyone has any experience with their little ones being prescribed Omeprazole for reflux and finding there LO getting constipation, were on day 4 since taking and little one has been far gassier but hasn't pooed since Friday and is screaming in pain whenever he farts (they also suddenly stink) but this evening has been crying on and off for a solid hour because in any position he is not comfortable! We've tried all the bicycle legs, tummy massage and even giving Colic drops which normally makes him go after having it and no luck! Hate seeing little one in so much pain :(

So with the omeprazole they go through a thing called the acid battle which in terms means things are going to get worse before they get any better which could explain the pain

I’ve no experience but I did my own research (because the GP never mentioned any side effects..) and it can cause constipation, stomach pain, wind.. sickness & diarrhoeatoo. Speak to a pharmacist tomorrow to see if lactulose can be taken with omeprazole & what dose is applicable for their weight xx If they’re bottle fed you can give small amounts of water inbetween bottles
