SMA comfort milk

How is everyone making these bottles? I’ve made 2 with the prep machine but the milk goes all congealed. Do I need to do them with full boiling water and cool the whole bottle down?

Hi! I had this exact problem, I found if you do the hot shot and then add the cold immediately then shake it works better. If I shook it with just the hot it went like glue x

@Eloise so adding the powder to the bottle last? Xx

@Jess I add it first, then add all the water and then shake it as hard as I can x

Got it, thank you - it really caught us off guard! Xx

I’m using the HIPP comfort milk and found that we couldn’t use the prep machine anymore. Check the box but the HIPP says to add to 50° water not boiling which is something I only learnt recently. I’ve tried a lot of things and using a bottle warmer to keep cooled down boiled water at the right temp and then adding the formula in when he’s ready to feed the best way. We also had to go up a teat size as it’s sticky and thicker. I tried prepping the bottles and keeping them in the fridge but again, I didn’t find it reheated very well.

Did either of you need to change teat sizes? We’re using mam bottles and 1 is too slow with the new milk

@Jess I changed from 0 to 1 but I think now we are getting to the stage where he needs 2

@Jess we haven’t changed teat size yet, she still seems to be managing ok!
