Ocarro pram - Mammas and Papas

What are your thoughts on this pram? Seriously got my eye on it! I’m after an all terrain pram which isn’t too bulky. X

We liked it but ended up going for a silver cross micralite as it was lighter and cheaper. We love it!

I have this pram and I love it, we do a lot of walking and it has been brilliant x

We like it - it is quite heavy though!

I seriously considered this one but ended up choosing the Bugaboo Fox 5, mainly because it’s lighter. It’s also more expensive though. We have a very long and rough farm track for a drive, so I didn’t want to be stuck having to go in the car every time we leave the house…

@Katelin Potts great! Have you tried flying with it yet?

@Emily yeh it is you’re right - but I find all of them pretty heavy apart from the city ones! Have you tried flying with it? Would ideally like something which is ok for travelling abroad with a newborn

We've got it and love it. It's a little fiddly to change the next stage seat bit (we have adaptors for a car seat) but overall, it's great.

I’ve got this pram and I love it, my little one is nearly 1 now and we haven’t moved onto a buggy because she’s so comfy in it & it’s so roomy!! Folds up quite small compared to some others and the big basket is a god send!! I would defo recommend, but like others have said it is heavy- but I found them all relatively heavy!

We love ours! Has served us very well with our first son, who turns 3 tomorrow. Now using it for our 3 week old son. Brilliant for all terrains, even on country walks! X

We have this one and love it, as everyone says it is a bit heavy but it’s fine for just lifting in the boot etc! It’s lovely to walk with and we’ve tried it out on all surfaces and it’s really good. For holiday we brought a cheaper cosatto stroller… 1. Becos it’s easier to carry and 2. I didn’t want the ocarro to get damaged becos it’s the cost of a car 😂 we did get a good deal with isofix base and car seat for £700 though! X

We have this and love it! I think it looks more traditional than other prams. Currently using the carrycot and I’m looking forward to transitioning into the seat which you can use from newborn but she’s so dinky! Xx

We got the mamas and papas flip xt as it felt almost the same as the occaro but not as fancy and a bit lighter. Really happy with it!

I found this in a light grey and walnut on winstanleys pramworld for about half price! Got it in walnut for our little one x

We’ve got the Ocarro. Managed to get a bundle through Emma’s Diary for half the price it was on Mamas & Papas website.

As some people have mentioned, the prices can be quite different... M&P has probably seven or eight sales per year, so try and time your purchase around one of the sales periods. Off the top of my head, I think the next one is around the end of November (Black Friday). You can also join their Grow club for £25 off orders over £250. It's not much off the price of a pram but it helps! If you're spending over £1k, there's a gift voucher scheme where you get 10%+ of the spend back as a voucher if you book a personal shopper appointment. https://www.mamasandpapas.com/pages/buying-for-baby-faq

I have it and really like it! It’s easy to fold and great when walking the dog in different places ☺️ really sturdy

I had my heart set in it until I went to try some out in a shop and ended up with the iCandy. I preferred with the iCandy that I could raise the seat up with elevators to be nearer to you. I felt the Ocarro position was quite low down.

Absolutely love my ocarro. It’s so sturdy, great for all terrains. Not the lightest but that’s what I liked about it as I knew it would be able to handle anything. We still use it for our 2 year old and our 4 month old- both fit perfectly fine in it! We will still get a lot of use out of it for our toddler let alone for the baby so it was definitely worth the money as a lot of cheaper pushchairs I’ve seen seem to be outgrown so quickly. We use the pushchair insert only now, we only used the carrycot bit for a couple of months. And if you can get the footmuff for it, it’s so cosy and at the moment we don’t need a blanket or jacket on as it keeps little one really warm!

I’ve heard the basket is a bit crap because you can’t really get into it

For me it was too heavy (have had surgery on my wrist though) so we opted for the flip xt2 which is very similar when next to our friends ocarro there isn't much difference but even pushing hers I find ours much easier to move around.

I would definitely have chosen a different one knowing what I know now. I have it. The storage basket is really hard to get into which is very annoying. It’s too heavy too. I think upababy one is much better.

It’s too heavy for me, I can barely lift into the boot. And it’s not that smooth to put up and down, bits always get stuck. It is sturdy and comfortable for the baby but I hate how heavy it is and bloody hard to push around shops as it’s so big it doesn’t fit round smaller shops

I tested it in the shop after thinking this is the pram and fell in Love with it after learning how easy it was to use, we brought it the same day to be delivered in December x

Absolutely love it! It's definitely worth getting if you live in the coutryside or will be walking regularly on trails and non man-made paths. I take mine up rocky tracks (Loch Lomond 3 ways trail for example) and through the woods bumping it up over rocks and tree roots. It IS heavy but folds down easily, when folded it is heavier than other prams which is a reflection on how sturdy it is. I see you've asked a question about flying with it, we haven't. We bought the joie nitro stroller (can get a new born insert for it) for holidays as much lighter and compact. I personally feel Ocarro is too bulky to travel with, unless by car, and juggling cases, car seat and baby with it would be quite tricky. We have been on holiday with it where we drove 5 hours and there was next to no room left in the boot with it folded up so something else to consider is what size car you have (i have a fiesta). I also agree with Emma, unless using it with car seat on frame, it can be hard getting it round small independant shops.

Also! We got the 8 piece bundle last year for half price in the M&P black friday sale - definitely worth waiting until then as its about 1800 normal price

@Alex thanks so much for this, really useful info!!

No no no no no no no. Honestly, don’t do it! If you have c section you won’t be able to use it, it is so so heavy. The next bit, 6+ month is not only heavy but also awkward and just unnecessary big. It glides on the road so doesn’t really do the job to rock baby to sleep. You can’t get into a basket with 6+ month attachment. Mine broke in 4 months, and mamas and papas agreed to do a refund, says a lot doesn’t it. I got Joie Versatrax and it is 4 times cheaper, fantastic value for money, easy to use, rocks on the road, not bulky, easy to manoeuvre, lighter than Ocarro, lots of room in a basket. Think Range Rover vs Mini. First one is pretty to look at but expensive, breaks, etc.
