With me it was more like a gentle jiggle, and it didnât help at all so weâre doing another ultrasound soon to see babyâs face. However baby is fine with âroughâ movements, like if you exercise or laugh really hard those things get them moving a lot and theyâre still safe and sound inside us, I do understand you being uncomfortable tho.
If it doesnât feel right, itâs not right. Follow your gut feeling!!! It could be ânormalâ but if it doesnât feel ok, then you shouldnât have to sit through it.
Do you have an anterior placenta by any chance they press really hard on me when they canât get her to move or âfind herâ she hides a lot and turns her back so they have to shake her essentially to see whatâs going on.
They dod the same to me and they need to count the bbâs spinal column. . An anatomy scan is not a vacation; its an hourlong medical procedure to examine the growth and development. When you laugh super hard or you exercise, the bbâs tumbling around in there just as much.
I have the same experience but I think i shake more my baby during intimacy or dancing. Your baby is always moving in there and shaking the same way the only difference is your are not watching it they need to look for everything in the baby that is the purpose of the ultrasound verified the baby is growing correctly I had a subchorionic hematoma for weeks and the ultrasound didnt make it worse or anything.
@Flower I would be careful telling people that this can cause a miscarriage. Iâm sorry your grandma had a late term loss but you should make sure statements like this are backed by scientific evidence of this being dangerous.
What bothered me most was the shaking and seeing his little body being rattled up and down repeatedly and he wasnât moving. He then turned completely away from the probe. Which I knew he was either uncomfortable or just not having it. Then when the MFM came in she simply put the probe on my belly and softly pushed a little and she got him perfectlyâŠâŠ that made me even more furious because I knew that that was a choice to be that aggressive. At the end of the day that little human in there still feels and itâs mommyâs job to protect him. Thatâs how I felt at the moment.
I had the same happen to me during my anatomy scan today. I didnât appreciate it either but reading the comments makes me a bit relieved. If they insist on shaking again at my next one I will probably tell them no

Ah yes, weâve done that at one ultrasound to get her moving so we can get the picture we needed. That said think about half the movement you may be doing whether itâs dancing, running, getting spicy with your partner, etc. all things that we do to move our bodies thus moving the little beans around. They wouldnât do anything that would hurt them obviously but I understand feeling frustrated. Did you ask her to stop? I feel like you can always ask them to not if you donât feel comfortable!
