Frozen formula

Hey mamas ! Teething baby here and I heard you can freeze formula in those little popsicle molds, but does anybody know how long the formula is good for in the freezer before you have to throw it out ?

what else have you tried because my son is miserableeee

I’ve tried the dr tablots soothing tablet as well as Camilia teething drops and they have worked good

Check your formula can, most say not to freeze. Normally people use BM to make the popsicles with

I’ve always heard and read that you cannot freeze formula for any amount of time

Pretty sure you can’t freeze formula, unfortunately. But at 6 months baby’s can start to drink water so maybe you could dilute some purées with water and freeze them? I’ve been doing dark red cherries that were already frozen and making small popsicles for before bed because it helps my daughter sleep and that works well for her teething too.

@Anja I would find a more reliable and credible source rather than Reddit as anyone can comment on there.

@Anja I love solid starts website and Instagram. This is a credible source.

@Jenna Turner I was told the exact same info from my doctor as well, but I can’t screenshot my doctor so I just screenshotted whatever I could find off google. Solid starts (second screenshot) is a credible source though and gives the exact same info.

You definitely can freeze formula for teething popsicles. You just can't thaw it for drinking like you can with breastmilk. The nurses at the hospital told me that at my LO's last appointment.

@Anja yes I love solid starts and use their website/app often. Never know with Reddit though so if your pediatrician gave that advice then awesome!

Frida Baby Not-Too-Cold-to-Hold BPA-Free Silicone Teether for Babies https://a.co/d/2yxqFYn I like this one

Sorry just realized I did not answer your question lol. But it’s an alternative!

@Casaundra I second the frida silicone teether, but I learned the hard way that you can not sanitize them in a steam sanitizer, I melted one of mine when I popped it in the sanitize bin with his other chews :(

We freeze single ingredient purees for teething popsicles and they are amazing. The only thing that will calm baby down sometimes. His fave is frozen pear puree. Or a frozen wash/burp cloth(get the corners a little damp then freeze) loves those too

We use the haakaa fresh fruit feeder and the tray that goes with it. It's easy to use and easy for baby to hold
