Baby vomiting curdled milk after every feed with a bout of hiccups

Baby has been vomiting curdled milk after every feed. She was on 90ml of formula every 3 hours at 1 week which was too much according to the midwife so we've reduced her down to 80ml as if we give her less she's still hungry after the feed. She is putting on weight and passing healthy amount of poos and wees but just suspicious she might have reflux. We can't tell if it's something we're doing wrong or she just has reflux. We do burp her about 2-3 times a feed. Keep her upright min 15 20 mins after a feed, using size 0 mam teats. She also gets hiccups after every single feed no matter what we do.

Speak to your doctor, they might recommend gaviscon… my baby was throwing up after every feed, changed her to kendamil and the doctor gave her gaviscon… she’s so much better

Maybe try a 1 teat to give it a go. Curdled milk means it’s from the stomach as it’s started to mix with the stomach acid- so it’s not necessarily from the bottle you give there and then. Could be it’s too much, if they take to much they bring it back up. My lo was on 2oz- 45ml until 2 weeks old for reference, only went up to 90ml at 2 weeks old. We demand fed rather than waiting for the 3hr mark. Midwives and hv all say different! Don’t worry what you do, if she’s hungry she’s hungry but could be too much at once xx

The curdled milk is because it’s reaching the stomach and mixing with acid and then coming back up. Sounds like a bit of reflux which is normal. You could try reducing the amount of milk but feeding more often. If you feel the reflux is bad you could try infant Gaviscon.

Sounds normal to me tbh!

Thank you this is so reassuring especially when youre a first time mum and quite panicky 💜🙈

I’m having the same isssue, we was on kendermil and switched to cow and gate anti reflux thicker milk and it seems to be much better on it, not as hungry and not being sick and seeming more at peace, would give it a try xx
