If you have any questions about the Tonie Box, please ask. I'm happy to share our experience :)
We have a Yoto mostly because we like the extra features like the okay to wake nightlight, the clock, the white noise, being able to play Spotify or audiobooks over Bluetooth, and the radio stations. There’s also a toothbrush timer but we don’t use that. Good selection in multiple languages (we speak English/French), my son figured it out at 14 months, and it seems like it’ll grow with him well. The cards are slightly cheaper but it wasn’t a concern for us, space was and the cards store neatly in a little box. Easy to make your own card, my son has one with grandma and grandpa reading him stories. App is easy to use, and you can set volume limits for day and night. Less branded/Disney stuff so depends on your family’s vibe. I got mine on Black Friday sale last year. Everyone I know with Tonies loves them too.
Thanks both so much! I can't seem to find if you can record your own stuff on the tonies box? And do the yoto player cards have music etc in the stories?
Yes you can! It's called "creative Tonies" and you can record anything. Grandma's voice, rock music, whatever you'd like. We have one figurine for grandma (that looks like grandma, lol), one for daddy, and a custom made to go to sleep.
Yoto player ones have some music, some stories, some mix. You can check out their store! And creative tonies my friend is an uncle and made a special one for his niece and nephew and they love it, it’s the cutest. Not sure pricing of those, for yoto it’s 25 for a 5 pack of make-your-own
I would say yoto! As its much easier to travel with and for example use in the car. Plus the tonie characters are lovely, but it's super annoying when a young child takes it of the Tony box constantly (speaking from experience). Also as much as I like the whole disney aspect with a Tony, the don't use the actual disney songs.
In my experience, a cheap speaker works just as well. You can hook it up to Spotify, some more people have recorded them reading stories. And there are recording apps that you can record yourself or others on.
We have a Tonie Box which we love. I didn't know Yoto, I just googled it, and it seems great too!
