Travelling with Uber/didi

Any experiences with Uber, didi or similar? We want to travel with our son as a lap baby (6+ months) and thinking about getting to and from the airport. Doesn’t look like there is an option on Uber to choose baby friendly ride.

I think Sheeba has kid friendly rides?

No, you can't take babies on laps in Uber. Call a regular taxi.

“Child restraints are not required on buses, trains or personalised transport services such as taxi, limousine and ride-booking services” Is Uber not a ride-booking service? As I understand qld and wa apply taxi rules to rideshare services.

In Victoria no car seat is required in Taxis but they are in Ubers.

I would be putting him in a car seat regardless. You never know when an accident might happen. In nsw taxis won't let you ride without one. Trains you don't need one. Try Google and see if anything caters one for you. But if your going to be in a car, I'd use a car seat

We went on holidays recently - Bus for airport transfer seems safe which is what we did, but I would not be getting in a taxi without a car seat! Even though the law (depending on state) says you can, some of them drive like absolute lunatics and also are in accidents alot. We walked everywhere we went with bub, I did want to get a hire car and take the car seat but it just wasn't organised. You could look into Shebah if it's an option where your going (there wasn't any where we went)

Any reason you don't want an actual taxi company? You can request a carseat.

I have had some Ubers allow it and others refuse. You can go in taxis though. Sheeba has car seat rides but not all drivers know how to install the seats correctly anyway

In nsw Uber won’t accept baby without car seat (most of the time) in Qld they allow you on lap ( only one person said no) all the others were fine. What we did is we have a car seat that has its own bag pack and all car seat travel for free in any planes. Ill

Hey I know a lot are suggesting Shebah but I’m pretty sure adult men can’t ride in Shebah so not the best option if travelling with dad.

I believe shebah is the only service where you can get a professionally installed carseat

@Nina dads are allowed to travel with shebah 😊 "At Shebah, you can book a seat for your precious cargo or multiple child seats or boosters when required. And dads, we’ve got you covered too. If your child is travelling in a child seat, we want to keep them safe and you’re welcome to travel too." On their home screen

Taxis yes you can. Rideshare no unless you book the car seat option, as it comes under personal car. Best to pre book the car seat or Sheeba or taxi
