I have a pitcher of cooled boiled water as it is so much quicker than having to wait for a rapid cool, I would do 1oz boiling and 2oz cooled, I’d measure the cooled into a separate bottle x
The rapid cool will cool the full amount for you. Add your powder to boiling water in the rapid cool, lid on, shake and wait until the display goes green. When you add the powder the water is still boiling and so will sterilise the formula, no need for both hot and cold x
That’s what the instructions say anyway!
I take a thermos flask of boiling water and the rapid cook to bed with the bottles and formula pre measured out. Pour the water into the bottle however much you need then use the lid of the bottle to measure out a “hot shot” and pour the rest of the water in to the rapid cool. Mix your powder with the hot shot and give the nuby a few minutes to cool the water then add it to the bottle. Works really well for us, I do it during the day most of the time aswell when I’ve got a hungry baby!xx
@Georgia Adding powder to boiling temp destroys nutrients though doesn't it. That's why they want you to let it cool to nearer 70 before it hits the powder
Did this work for you? I just tried it with the tommee tippee go prep and it made the bottle too hot to drink. Does the Nuby version cool it more? Also, if was to just use normal cool water. Can I just bring that up from the fridge before I go to bed? How long would it last, or would I need to bring it up from the fridge each time?! (would have a flask of boiling water for the hot shot) I’m trying to eliminate using my perfect prep machine to see if it helps my little ones wind! Any advice greatly appreciated:)
Or if anyone has any tips on how they make bottles in the night that would be greatly appreciated! X
