Mamia formula milk

Had anyone tried Aldi’s (mamia) formula? I need opinions please. I was going to use Kendamill but I found Aldi’s is cheaper.

The Aldi formula is the cheapest one there is so it’s a good bet if you have an Aldi nearby. I’ve read that it is very very similar to Aptamil which is good because I believe the Mamia one doesn’t come in a ready to feed version but if you needed to you could probably use Aptamil ready to feed occasionally when on the go.

All formula has to comply to certain standards so they are all much and such the same! If it’s cheaper and accessible to you then go for it ☺️ I used kendamil as there was only one Aldi nearby and if they didn’t have any stock I’d have been screwed 😂

@Sophie mamia and aptamil and cow and gate are made in the same factory hence why they are all the same ( I’ve read) Also all formula milk have to follow a certain guidelines to even be allowed to be sold in the uk 🙂

All of them have to meet a high standard. If you have an Aldi near you, I don’t see why you shouldn’t try it xx

My opinion on this is that if you’re ever stuck for milk and no where near an aldi you’re screwed, cow and gate milk isn’t much more and it’s available in every shop, even corner shops, I know from experience I’ve needed to pop out for milk a few times last minute xx

@Georgia Travagll in that situation you could just pick up some Aptamil since it’s so similar

I didn’t know you always had to use the same brand of milk? I thought if you ran out of the one you are using you could just buy any other one and it would be fine.

My boys had had this formula from 5 weeks old, he’s now 8.5 months xx

@Sophie unless your baby has a super sensitive tummy because even the smallest changes affect some babies, and there’s such a small price difference, there’s £1 difference between mamia and cow and gate, where aptamil is £5.50 different so it’s a hell of a lot more to spend in an emergency than just paying the extra £1 for the convenience and not upsetting a babies tummy There’s no right or wrong but that was my reasoning when I had my little girl and it worked well for us

@Alba always try and stick to the same formula hun. Even though they all have to meet the same standards they are still all slightly different and switching them up all the time could cause baby to struggle with so much change xx

@Lauren thank you so much. I can’t choose now omg!!! I bought the Kendamil ready made bottles for the hospital but I might try the Aldi milk first and if it doesn’t work I’ll switch to Kendamil.

@Alba if you have an Aldi near by then it’s such a money saver!!! My eldest was on Mamia too this was 5 years ago xx

I used to use the Aldi one, and had no problems whatsoever with it! I found we were needing a lot of pre made bottles of aptimal when we were out so because of this I changed to SMA milk - I also found it was cheaper than Aldi’s by 25p🤣 in Morrisons!x

@Lauren i have 3 ALDIs close by so that should be enough and always will try to buy a new tub when the current one is half way

Yes I went from aptamil to this and it was amazing and definitely great for my pockets 😂 it was hard to find a suitable formula for my son as he has a couple different allergies hence why we had to change from aptamil but the mamia formula was great!

We loved it until our son had a severe cmpa reaction and we needed prescription formula baby 2 is due in may and planning on using it for them

I use kendamil and I wouldn't use anything else it's amazing for my boy 🩵

I’m opting for kendamil and it’s cheaper in Iceland, think it’s £9.25 so cheaper than online but their subscription looks like it would work great even though it’s £12.00 x

I’ve used Aldi for both my babies, first in 2021/2022 and again since April this year for my second, no problems and our Aldi is a 10 minute walk/2 minute drive so good if you are close to one

@Jess I can recommend the subscription, when everyone has struggled to get kendamil in the shops because it was out of stock everywhere, mine came straight to my house for the month no problem. It takes away all the worry of not being able to get any x

@Jess omg I didn’t know this but now that I do I’m doubting hard in what to do

@Alba my biggest advice get a few brands in and trial them you never know what baby is going to like best and prefer x

My daughter was on mamia powder formula and for emergencies or longer days out we used aptamil bottles. She was fine with the mix

Yup we do 🙋🏼‍♀️, shes 3 weeks tomorrow and doing great on it. Used it with my first from 5 weeks to 1yo as well after Cow and Gate and Aptamil powder gave her awful gas issues due to bubbles/froth. Mamia mixes lovely and smooth and the fact its much cheaper is an added bonus. On rare occasions we did use Aptamil ready to feed when out and about as well as itd basically the same.

Used it for my LG from birth till she was 1 year old, never had any issues and using it now for my LB (3 months) since birth

I bought the aptimil cartons for the hospital as they only do the big tins of mamia and as soon as we got home we went on to this no problems. He’s now 14 months and on cows milk, but this was ideal for us x

Apparently all formula is the same and the packaging it’s all a way to make us spend more money. So if we can can save a little extra every month go for it ❤️

the only thing to consider with kendamil is it is made with whole milk so can be too rich for some. My lo was originally on kendamil but it was too rich for her and gave her the worst diahorrea.
