Aspirin in early pregnancy-UK midwife’s recommendation

I know I will never have the answers following from my missed miscarriage. But I wanted to see what everyone else’s views are on taking aspirin in early pregnancy as instructed by the 1st midwife appointment at 8weeks because I met the two moderate risk factors of: -1st pregnancy -High BMI Because this kind of conflicts what this says as it says to take it after 12 weeks pregnant? I started taking mine at 8 weeks after the appointment. Does everyone that gets recommended aspirin due to moderate risk factors start aspirin at 12 weeks onwards or before? Just curious as what I should do when hopefully I can get pregnant again and may get advised to start aspirin?

I’m US based. My doctor recommended it at 12 weeks since I have an IVF pregnancy and history of miscarriage. Now I’ve added in a third risk factor after catching Covid. My understanding is that this recommendation is one of the better researched ones in OB medicine. (That being said, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know what it’s like to need a reason)

I have anti-cardiolipin antibodies so in this pregnancy have been taking it with LMWH since about 6 weeks. In my last pregnancy I started taking it at 12 weeks due to family history of pre-eclampsia but miscarried due to chromosomal issue.

I have been on baby aspirin since about 3 weeks. I have a clotting issue and have had two first trimester losses (not related to the clotting best they could tell) but because of it’s benefits I’ve been on it this pregnancy and I’m just about 16 weeks.

Thankyou ladies x

Canada mama here! My first pregnancy I started aspirin 81mg at 4 weeks. Dr suggested it to try and prevent preeclampsia. I ended up getting it anyways. Im now pregnant with baby number 2 and started taking aspirin a little before 4 weeks - 81mg, but my high risk dr increased it to 2 pills per day due to my preeclampsia history.

I took asprin from 12 weeks pregnant also high bmi and pregnancy after a loss x

I've been taking aspirin before 12 weeks ago and now 22w, 4 previous losses before 11w

What’s the benefits of it? I haven’t hear about it before

I started low dose at 4 weeks due to previous loss and doing my own research I’m now 8+5 which is the furthest I’ve got since my losses. I also took it with my son and had the smoothest pregnancy ever and he’s now 3 xx

I was told to take it from my 8 week appointment with my first due to your same risk factors. My second pregnancy (now) I didn’t have to take it because it’s my second pregnancy so only had one risk factor but was given it after my 12 week tests due to low PAPP-A and both pregnancies have been okay x

I'm consultant lead, and I had two options for my asprin. When trying to concieve up to 34 weeks. Or from 12 weeks of pregnancy. I've had a positive experience so far, and I chose to start at 12 weeks as I had no issues getting pregnant.

How many mg is everyone taking?

I take 150mg I upped it at 7 weeks from 75mg as I was told to by the consultant x
