Returning to smyths with no receipt

Does anyone have any success stories returning items to smyths toystore without a receipt? We got some duplicate items for Christmas so I’m looking to exchange for something we will get more use out of. I know they are from smyths we just don’t have a receipt for it… I know they won’t do a refund but an exchange would be great
