Flu / chest infections while pregnant

Does anyone have any advise/tips on how to shift a chest infection and the flu? Currently 19 weeks pregnant and can’t do anything to get rid! I have tried lemon and honey etc but nothing is helping and doctors won’t give antibiotics obviously x

If it’s flu, antibiotics won’t help. Same if it’s a viral chest infection. If it’s a bacterial chest infection then they can and will prescribe antibiotics, there are plenty of safe antibiotics in pregnancy. If they’re saying it’s viral then all you can take is paracetamol, saline nasal spray, Vicks vapour rub and honey and lemon really

If you have a chest infection you need antibiotics. If it’s a viral flu thing. Rest, hydration and paracetamol x

They won't give antibiotics if it's a viral chest infection. I had one for 2-3 weeks lots of fluids, try a humidifier in the room, try not to sleep flat and get the phlegm out if you can, saline nasal sprays and glycerine lozenges for nose and throat relief x

Try putting onion on your feet, plastic bag around and in the socks for the night, does work like magic ❤️

I’ve got a chest infection and have been given antibiotics! I’m 20 weeks x
