Can you apply for this if your on SMP? x
@Nicole if you google it there’s a whole gov webpage on it I think you can but it goes through all the eligibility criteria if you can get it get it x
@Natasha I don’t claim any benefits so my mum says I won’t be able to get it but I’m sure there’s a box for maternity pay so I don’t know wether to apply or not x
I think you can apply if you don’t revive any benefits. Once you revive Child tax credit you can apply but have to do so before baby is 6 months old xx
@Katie child tax benefit is now the child element of UC. So if you don't get benefit, you won't be eligible for the sure start grant.
Oh really? So those that don’t claim benefits are not entitled to any help from the government except maternity?
@Katie not everyone gets help I am afraid. You can claim child benefit which is about £24 per week.
I sent mine off in early Dec I got a text to say they received my application 13th Jan I got my matb1 back 2 days after that then I got paid it today but haven’t yet had a letter or anything to say I was awarded it it just landed in my bank account :) xx
