Thank you Kelly x At times it feels counterintuitive to drink so much water when my tummy is already super bloated. I remember my clinic keeps saying the same thing. Do you know why it has to be 2 liters? Sorry if this question sounds strange 😂
I totally get what you mean! And it’s really hard to actually drink that amount too! It was absolutely drilled into me to make sure I was getting 1.5-2L everyday. I’m not sure exactly what the science is behind it, but they said it was basically the only thing I had control over with reducing my risk of OHSS. Any kind of fluid counts though, so if peppermint tea is helping, do that. I found having lots of different flavours of squash helped me and felt less like a chore xx
My AMH was 143, so I was super at risk, and did get mild to moderate symptoms. My liver has also not completely recovered since doing IVF, though I’m not sure if that is also aggravated by pregnancy!
Hi Ines, it’s a really tricky time. Dont know much about Ohss but it will pass - try to get rest where you can x
Thank you 🥹 this group has been so helpful
@Kelly wish you a smooth delivery this spring!!
@Ines Thank you! ☺️ Hope your treatment goes smoothly and you get lots of embryos 🤞xx
Try to drink electrolyte rich liquids if possible - I am drinking coconut water and lucozade to help as my salts (measured in a blood test) were very low during the worst of my ohss. I also was recommended to sleep propped up so am more vertical to help with the liquid moving down rather than up - and I think it’s helping. Good luck and hope you feel better!!
@Allie I'll try to do these tips because this pain is brutal from the egg retrieval this morning. Thank you Allie x
@Ines hope you body calms down quickly and really really hoping all went well on egg retrieval!
Hope all went well Ines ♥️
Drink loads of water, aim for 2L a day. That’s the best thing you can do to avoid OHSS. Get some extra pillows to put between your legs and under your tummy to support it whilst it’s bloated. All the injections are a big deal for your body, so accept that you need to take it easy for a while. Do take short walks and get some fresh air and movement, but also rest/ nap if that feels right too xx
