How long should I expect to test positive after a missed miscarriage

It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. I took a test this morning expecting it to atleast be faint and it was instantly positive with a dark line. The drs told me to test after 3 weeks so I know I did it too early but I don’t see how in a weeks time it will be negative ? It just makes me anxious that I might need further treatment. And also that it will mean it will take even longer to get my period and to be able to try again 😞

Hey lovely, I had 2 miscarriages last year within 7 months of each other, both times I tested 3 weeks after and got a negative result but it did take a while to get a regular period again, happy to chat if you need it xxx I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️

I was told not to test until 3 weeks but I started testing before and didn't get a negative reading till just after 2 weeks. We started trying again around that time as some people said they fell pregnant before their first period but it wasn't to be for me. My first period arrived exactly 3 weeks after but was heavier than usual.

My MMC took me 5 weeks to test negative. It’s very triggering isn’t it. So sorry your going through it. Finally tested negative after my first cycle post MC. Xx

Thank you guys. I’m sorry for your losses. It’s all very sad and very overwhelming. ❤️

So sorry for your loss. Hopefully your line will begin to lighten, but if it doesn’t, at least you’ll be prepared for it now. Mine was an instant positive after 3 weeks but I expected it as my bleeding had got heavier rather than lighter, my tummy was uncomfortable to touch, and I’d noticed a smell to the blood. I’d had the tablets and obviously still had retained tissue which had got infected. Had a D&C and got a negative after 2 weeks. Conceived 5 months later though it was a very difficult time emotionally and mentally. It was just when I’d accepted that it could take a very long time to get pregnant again it happened. Watch for symptoms of any infection and ring your early pregnant unit if you suspect something. And more importantly look after yourself and treat yourself xxxx you’ve been through and are going through an extremely sad time❤️. Sending love xxx
