Birth certificate taking too long in Hawaii?

I ordered my son’s birth certificate early February through the government website (https://vitrec.ehawaii.gov/vitalrecords/ ) and still haven’t gotten it. Called the number from their website but no response). Is it normal to take this long? We’re planning trips soon and would love to have it on hand. Any advice to get it sooner would be great. Mahalo xx

We are in the same boat and so are a few other mamas that I know! I am going to try to go in person to pick it up

Make a new appointment and put in person pick up that’s what we had to do! The apts to go in person were like next day :) you can talk with them about getting a refund for the ones you paid for online

@Sara let me know if you’re able to pick it up! I’ll probably just do that as well. Thank you!

@Sara I wonder why it’s taking so long! My friend who gave birth last year got theirs within 2 weeks

If you go in you should be able to speed up the process! Luckily we went in to pickup to find they spelled my name wrong which extended our process but probably would’ve taken even longer if not!

I will! Im not sure. That’s crazy they got it so fast! We got my daughter’s social security card within a couple of weeks though!

@Alicia that’s good to know!!

@Sara same! We got the SS card fast.

@Alicia hey Alicia! How did you schedule an appointment with them? Is it through the same site? Thank you

Same! My baby is already two months old and we can’t put him on my husbands insurance without his birth certificate so now we’re paying out of pocket

@HVD I just went to the department of health today and was able to pick it up within 5mins with an appointment! I think they were never gonna mail it :(
