Hi! My dentist advised to have their first appointment around their 2nd birthday. He also said to bring them along as often as you can so they get used to the environment :)
My dentist asked to see him as soon as he has his first tooth so think it’s different with each dentist!
Definitely different for each dentist, my daughter's pediatrician wasn't concerned about her teeth/ we weren't concerned very healthy/ white etc. so she didn't go until 3 years old & every 6 months from then as suggested by AAOP
In the UK, it is best to see the dentist as soon as baby has teeth. They don't do much anyway, just look at their teeth and getting them used to it. Mine has gone 2-3 times (every 6 months) and cried everytime. Though NHS dentists at the moment are really rare. You will be lucky to get one.
Definitely get him registered, I registered mine a few weeks after she was born. I’m sure she was under 1 when she first came with me, she didn’t let them look at her teeth but it’s good to take them to get them used to it ☺️
My health visitors advised as soon as he had teeth but when I spoke to my dentist he said he doesn’t tend see children until 1.5 to 2 years as there’s really no need. I’ve got him registered though
Yes you can go now! I just took my 8 month old and he has 5 teeth. I registered him at 4 months x
The way its so difficult to get a dentist atm i’d say sign him up. Its up to you if you do take him for a checkup now or when he has more teeth. I took my daughter when she was about 1/1.5 yrs old and had most teeth x
