Baths after c-section

Hello, I had my little boy 8 days ago via emergency c-section and my stitches and everything else seem to be healing well and looking good but I am being told different things about having a bath. My last midwife said not to have a bath just yet but the midwife I’ve just seen said it’s okay for me to have a bath as long as it’s just water. I would really love just to have a bath 😅 How long did everyone else take to have a bath?

I’ve had 2 sections and I’ve Always waited 6 weeks just has showers x

I waited six weeks. It was awful hahaha

I am 3 weeks PP with C section and it has split open ub one spot and has an infection with just taking showers, I would say better safe than getting an infection, thankfully mine is just superficial in the skin layer but it is still not pleasant

I appreciate the value of midwives. But they aren't doctors. They don't perform surgeries that I know of. And it seems they would be in no position to provide medical care advice regarding abdominal surgery. You had an abdominal surgery. You have a medical advice line available to you. Call them and ask for approval/advice. The risks you face from improper aftercare are serious.

Would it be waiting for 6 weeks for baths without products or with products? Just thinking Epsom salts/bath bombs etc x

My surgeon told me a week before a bath but I waited 2

Thank you so much everyone! ☺️

I’m 5m Pp and still scared take a bath🤨🤨

I waited til after 6 weeks with my first 2, this time I’ll wait longer because my incision only has just closed after it opened

My midwife said it was fine for me to have a bath once my dressing was taken off, which was day 5. Had a bath the next day!

I still haven't had one as wasn't sure when I could and now 10 weeks PP. Forgot to ask at PP check up. Missing a bath

I was told not to until 6 weeks pp check up . Your doctor has to give you the “ok “
