Swimming vest

Bit of advice please ladies, should my 2 year old boy wear a swimming vest when we go to a swimming pool? If so can anyone recommend any good ones please? Also what should he wear obviously a swimming nappy but swimming shorts or an all in one swim suit? What does everyone else put their 2 year old boys in? X
