I’ve always put it down to the fact that on my bottles it says US oz so figured it might be different and that the powder at the bottom pushes the water up, though I can see u haven’t got powder in urs first. I’ve never stopped the water and my LO has never had any problems
I watched a video tutorial on YouTube before I started using mine and Tommee Tippee put a disclaimer saying it doesn’t matter if it goes slightly over so I’ve just been putting the normal amount of scoops in x
I just adjust the dial, so if I’m making a 6oz bottle I will set the machine to 5oz etc. I know it’s annoying though because the prep machine can only do 4oz minimum!
I had the same issue with my baby breeza. If i aim for 4oz, i will adjust and choose 3oz cos of the excess water/mixture it dispenses.
Baby bottles are notoriously inaccurate for the oz and ml readings. If you have a food scale you can weigh the water it dispenses. 4 oz of water will weigh 4 oz on a scale. Your machine might be great and the bottle might be off
It’s only ever so slightly above 4oz. I wouldn’t worry about it.
My 4oz usually ends up 4.5oz. I presumed it’s cos the formula pushes it up as someone else said. Still, not concerned about half an oz. Bubba has been gaining weight and is fed so that’s all that matters.
We have this happening too, but very quickly realised that the prep machine is correct, if you look at the back of your formula tin, it tells you how much water should go against how many scoops and the water is always slightly more😊
I have always felt like the tommee tippee bottles have different oz than other bottles I have for some reason, I think it’s the shape of it yet the spacing between oz lines stays the same through the whole bottle if that makes sense
Thank you everyone for your advise 🥰 I’m still using it he seems to be fine! Xx
Same issue here - baby has been fine though
Ours did this, we stopped using it and did the hot shot method with the kettle instead
