I read a little, but I have a lot of friends that use this method and they didn’t have similar effects to mine so I wanted to dig a little more. And yes, I was, I got it the following day after giving birth
I didn't have periods on the nexplanon implant for about two years with every implant. I had three of them altogether. My periods always stopped then returned towards the end of the implants life cycle. You've likely bled as normal as you would post Partum and now they've stopped.
@Maria everyone is different, what may effect someone else may not effect you etc. if you were in it from straight after birth then you didn’t have a period 3 months ago, you just had irregular bleeding. As the nexplanon stops ovulation, no ovulation, no period
@Bethan you won’t have periods on the implant, it stops ovulation so no ovulation, no period. It’s likely any bleeding is just due to side effects that nexplanon state and as it comes to the end of its life cycle the amount of hormones in it will drop also causing irregular bleeding
@Robyn yes, like I said. I didn't have any bleeding until it was lowering the amount of hormones it releases towards the end of its cycle. I had it for 10 years, well adjusted to how it runs. I'm not on anything now because I was on implants for so long. Not strictly called a period on any birth control. It's called a withdrawal bleed then but most women see it as a period because they see any bleeding as a period. It was a term of speech.
Have you read the possible side affects for nexplanon? A quick google shows irregular bleeding as a side effect. Nexplanon, like other birth controls, stop ovulation so it’s unlikely you’re pregnant and any bleeding isn’t any actual period as no egg was released. Were you on nexplanon when you had this period once 3 months ago?
