Weaning constipation?! Help

Hey everyone. My 8.5mo is really suffering with what I think is constipation? He is doing little rabbit like droppings all day but nothing substantial. He used to be really regular and one big poo a day but for the last 3 weeks it’s like this. He has also been prescribed Lactulose for twice a day but this doesn’t seem to be working. It’s affecting his sleep and he looks in pain when he’s trying to go. Has anyone had any similar experiences? I can’t work out how to help him other than obvious things but nothing works :-( I’m back onto the docs tomorrow to ask. Thanks

My baby is similar… only things that help are water throughout the day and prunes/pears. Have you tried them? X

Movicol 100%. It just draws water to the 💩 to soften it. Prune pear etc didnt work for us x

So we had this issues for quite a while, baby would scream in pain straining but just couldn’t get anything out. Prunes pear etc did absolutely nothing. We were advised to scale the food right back and then wait for baby to poo - this works even better if you happen to be breastfeeding as breastmilk is a natural laxative. Once babies poo was back to more liquid we were told to slowly reintroduce food but only foods high in fibre initially. We swapped all bread/ pasta etc out for whole grain and touch wood we haven’t had the issue again since. We also make sure he has plenty of water with meals. Hope you find something that works, it’s awful seeing them suffer isn’t it x

Prune pouch and water really works for us! And chilli con carne 😳😂
