I went back on the pill for a short time after LO was born, but it caused constant bleeding (like 2mths of full period). I was taken off it due to that and told to use condoms and if necessary abstinence. Although we have a plan we made sure to let the doc know that we would be fine with an earlier pregnancy if it happened (I had no risk factors which would make a quick 2nd pregnancy an issue).
I went straight onto the depo injection after my first child, which worked great for me. The only thing I was advised was that if I wanted another child to remember, it could take up to 9month, a year to come out your system so I made sure to come off in the time frame I thought would be right for me and my family to start trying again
what was her reasoning for condoms being a bad idea?
@Kiera oddly she said they’re not overly safe
Well we’ve used condoms for the past year since we had our son and they have worked well for us so I think as long as used properly they are totally fine (98% effective I believe) xx
I find it so weird how majorly concerned medical professionals become about contraception from the moment your baby leaves your body. I was on the pill before we started trying but have decided not to mess with my natural hormones again as it took us some time to conceive and then had two miscarriages. My cycle hasn't returned yet (breastfeeding) and we're not exactly at it like rabbits so chances of anything happening are slim, but we intend to do more of a natural cycles approach I guess.
Yeah I want another one but not right at this moment so I went back onto the depo, best one for me as I had no side effects and don't have to think much about it lol
