I’ve got the same problem, started metformin about a week ago twice a day but still getting high readings first thing
I had this and was always in the morning. My nurse just said it’s one of the ones you can’t always control as it occurs when your sleep hormones change overnight and for lack of trying won’t get better. They recommended eating dinner earlier, then having a small snack like cheese later also going for a walk and drinking lots of water before bed. Oddly I always found if I’d had a terrible night sleep I always had a high reading. I ended up having to go on medication as mine didn’t get better. Good luck ☺️
Thank you so much for your support everyone! So I got 9 hours of sleep last night in a row (miracle with a 2 year old) and my reading was the lowest ever so I’m wondering if it’s sleep! I also ate some cheese the night before as my movie night snack so could be that!
Did anyone go on medication just for the first morning reading? I’ve been told to only call back my hospital if I get two high readings in a row but the rest of mine are fine!
The sleep thing is so true! If I have a good nights sleep my numbers are always lower in the morn. Unfortunately I don't often sleep well, but 1 metaphormin with evening meal brings me down to 5.2 for the morning reading.
I did yes as I could not bring my morning reading down and only got worse the bigger bubs got. Did help on a low dose! My other readings were fine. Sleep definitely plays a part too x
Hormones affect the fasting level. I.was diet co trilled until.my fasting levels went up.once I got more than 3 highs in a week I was put on metformin x
I got put on metformin today. I am so upset. Did anyone feel any changes/side effects??
I’ve been on metformin just over a week, twice a day and no side effects. It has helped my levels overall but have had a few high readings they weren’t too fussed about
Thank you for the support everyone ❤️
I’m also experiencing the same things and don’t know how to bring it down
