Cutting screen time with "nature"

I feel guilty for the amount of screen time I allow my daughter to have. On social media I see a lot about how kids need time in "nature" but no real examples since I can't really just walk into the woods with my 2 year & I live in an apartment complex. Can anyone help me out with some "nature" examples pleaseeee?

Why can’t you walk into the woods?

For us with a one year-old, his time in nature would usually be in a garden (I know you don’t have one, we don’t at the moment since we’re having building work done so we take him to see friends/relatives that do have gardens) or in a local park. As he gets older we’ll take him out walking too 😊 You could also see if there’s a forest school near you

Why can’t you? Any time outside is great. Does your child have a balance bike or a scooter? Even if you stay round the houses you can go out for a ride.

I also have a 2 year old. We play in the garden/yard. Go to the park. Go hiking on easy trails. Go to a local lake, river and beach. I put him in his worst clothes and let him explore ...he loves digging in the mud, collecting sticks and rocks. We also like to do nature scavenger hunts... before our trail walk I will make a list of things we are going to look for ie stick, leaf, acorn, flower etc and we try and find all the items.

Any time outside, in the sun. My son like to spot the birds everywhere. There should be parks local to you within walking distance?

Nature can even be the local playground and collecting some sticks and sitting in the grass. Kids love exploring natural environments. Even dense cities have park lands and green spaces!
