@Taylor Thank you! I have an appointment for just over a months time (the waiting list is crazy here!) they’ve asked for both myself and my husband to go in, so hopefully we will both be able to get some tests. I’ve been tracking ovulation and BBT, so should be able to give them pretty accurate data hopefully! Thank you 💙
If you are already tracking ovulation and can confirm you are ovulating with BBT, then I think it's even more important to have your husband do a semen analysis. If you haven't talked to him about that yet, I'd recommend starting to prepare him now so it's not a surprise. Maybe he'll be super chill about it but he might also need a little time to get used to the idea. My husband was fine with getting tested, but I've heard plenty of stories of men pushing back on it and delaying the testing only to find out later that there was a clear male factor issue.
Hopefully they can do the full suite of blood tests. I went private and had a lot of blood tests taken. I'm not sure if NHS covers all of these. Some include prolactin and the ones that include immunology like cardiolipin, amh are helpful. It would be good if they can have a 2D and 3D scan to check your ovaries, lining are all fine. Some mentioned it is good to check your tubes are open, but if you have had previous pregnancies I think chances are that they would be. Good luck!
Thank you! This is really helpful. Thankfully husband is fully on board and is happy to have tests needed. I’ve been testing for around 5/6 months now, so have really clear data that I seem to be ovulating. I’ll keep you updated! The appointment isn’t until end of September
Just ask your doc for a basic workup to start. They'll do some standard blood tests and then some additional blood tests that are timed off your cycle to see if you are ovulating. If you know you ovulate at a non-standard time, like not close to cycle day 14, let them know so they can adjust the timing of your blood draws. ALSO if it's time for you to start doing testing, then it's time for your partner to get a semen analysis. No reason to only investigate half of the situation.
