Not copper coil but I got the merina and I’ve had no periods for 2 months now, little bit of spotting for a little bit, no trouble from hormones etc and I was always really moody with the pill but I forget it’s even there

Had the copper coil for years it was really good but made my periods super heavy. I was already kinda heavy though so I expected this. Obviously didn’t affect my moods or hormones as it’s hormone free, which was why I went on it in the first place lol
Also yes I would recommend it unless you already have really heavy periods
@Skye did the insertion hurt? I'm scared of that part lol
@Yailin it didn’t hurt at all really! Lil uncomfortable as it’s similar format to a smear test if you’ve had one done before! Little pull/pinch but not painful at all! I made sure to dose up on paracetamol and ibuprofen though about an hour beforehand to make sure I didn’t suffer after as you can cramp for a while!
@Skye okay thank you 😊 I'll make sure to drink some ibuprofen beforehand. did you drink both at the same time or separately?
I had the copper coil, bled for about 3 months when it was first fitted- but just a little annoying bit of blood everyday. Then it shortened my cycle and made my periods heavier and longer. I was only getting about 10 blood-free days a month… so I’ve had that removed and had a mirena coil fitted and been having an annoying bit of blood every single day since- been about 8 weeks. Praying that the bleeding stops and I get no periods like a lot of women. Because right now I’m so bored of periods!!
@Yailin I’m in the UK (not sure that matters lol) so took mine in tablet form and I did take it at the same time! It might’ve been overkill but I was worried about the pain haha! It was absolutely fine though in the end :)
Following as I was planning on going on it
