Time to conceive second baby

It’s taking a lot longer than we expected and I’m wondering how long it took other women? Any tips or advice on what helped? Thank you!

Hi, I got pregnant first cycle when trying for my daughter who was born November 2021, I’m currently 23 weeks with my second and it took about 6 months this time around. Sending lots of love and luck as I know how stressful it can be x

First cycle with both x

I was first or second cycle with my daughter following a miscarriage (that was also first or second cycle) however, I’m 34 weeks now and it took about a year. We ended up going to a fertility doctor and after multiple tests, it turned out my progesterone had fallen off a cliff after having my daughter. I took one round of letrozole and on the first cycle, we got pregnant with this one. Sending lots of love! Xx

Following. Same here and not sure how to avoid keep thinking too much and stressing about 😖

I’ve got pregnant with my first one in second month after I removed my contraceptive implant, who was born in November 2021. This time round it took us slightly over 6 month. Good luck x

@Jessica sounds pretty much like my story! Just a boy instead of a girl in first go 😂😂

First one was a ONS and second one took 3 years!

Currently pregnant with 2nd- it took us over 2 years! I went for tests and nothing was wrong. Sending luck x

Thank you everyone! It’s so heartbreaking wanting to give them a sibling and not being able to

@Rheanna congratulations! did you get the tests on the NHS or have to pay for them? Did you do anything differently the cycle you got pregnant?

@Nadia Piemontese hope you’re okay!

@Kate congratulations!! If you don’t mind me asking how much was the fertility doctor?

I was very lucky to have insurance through work so I didn’t have to pay, but the most expensive test, the hycosy was about £500 as it was more of a procedure. All in all probably a Few thousand from initial consultation to getting pregnant. I wouldn’t have been able to conceive without it and the prescriptions they gave me to boost my progesterone. I am 36 so would have been able to get NHS a little faster given my age, but it’s something I am so so glad I did. I was at the clinic at Chelsea Westminster and they were amazing, and very compassionate but realistic which was appreciated.

With our first it took a year and a half (we had a miscarriage first too) and this time it took us three months. I'm still shocked with it taking us so long the first time as I was expecting a long road ahead. Last time it was all I could think about but this time I've been really busy with work and our little boy so I think the distraction helped. I also tracked ovulation both times x

Took 8 cycles with 1st baby and 5 cycles with #2. Currently pregnant due March 🙂

first baby was conceived on contraception, we thought the second baby would be easier as there would be no contraception this time we were wrong 9 months past and nothing! i heard about maca root i ordered some on amazon for a tenner, took it a week before i ovulated and i was pregnant! xx

@Kate thank you! I’ll look into it I think. I’ve had a google and all the fertility clinics in my area only seem to have information for IVF not anything else 🤔

@sophie wow! I’ll have a look thank you, how much did you have to take?

Do you know which one it was off Amazon?

I paid privately, but mainly because I didn't want to wait with the nhs being a mess! It's frustrating but we stopped trying- decided it wasn't going to happen and got a promotion and then Bam!

i just took one tablet a day, it’s not a medication or anything it’s just a vitamin but i’ve heard a lot of good things about it helping with fertility it defo helped me!
