Travel Insurance

Morning all, Have people purchased travel insurance while being pregnant? Doing the normal comparison websites online, it doesn’t seem to give you the option to declare pregnancy - which on a Google search I think that perhaps we don’t have to? Thanks!

Pregnancy is not a pre-existing medical condition according to insurers so doesn't need to be declared. But, you need to carefully check what cover they will provide in the case of pregnancy. It means reading all the T&Cs unfortunately to make sure they provide medical cover in the case of you going into labour early whilst on holiday, and that the baby will also be covered under the same policy

Bought some yesterday. Used a comp site and bought a Sainsbury's policy. You don't need to declare policy but DO read the t&cs. Any pregnancy related medical treatment, lost money, cancellations etc are not covered on the policy i bought within 12 weeks of my due date 🙂 x

*declare pregnancy

You can get normal insurance but check T&Cs. Most won’t cover you for anything pregnancy related for a singleton pregnancy after 32 weeks - so if you give birth abroad at say 34 weeks that would be very costly! There is one that does cover after 32 weeks but I can’t remember which (and it’s more expensive of course!).
