Early scan baby measuring behind

So I had my first early scan today where I thought I was around 7 weeks as I know the exact day I ovulated but they said I measuring 6+2. There was a good heartbeat but I’m just really confused how it can be behind when I know when I ovulated. I also got a positive test at 10 DPO so for 6+2 for be right, I would have ovulated later and got a positive at 5 or 6 DPO which is impossible. Has anyone had anything similar? X

Measuring is not always accurate, there is some margin error. Try not to worry, heartbeat was good, the baby is there, now just wait for the 12 weeks scan.😊

I found those early measurements were really inaccurate. At 7 weeks we measured 5+6 and 6+2 on the same day, then by 9 weeks we measured 9+5 so a huge difference! As long as everything is looking healthy then try not to worry about the days, it's all an estimate the whole way through to be honest

Yep! Mine was a week behind until 12 weeks, then he started measuring almost a week ahead. I took the measuring with a grain of salt bc I know the day I conceived.

Could.of ovulated late

I’m going for a scan today for this exact reason. I’m a week behind but having an nhs scan … I’ll come back later and update

Me, I had my first scan and was told I was 6+4 and I thought I was 6+6/7 based on ovulation - had another scan 9 days later and was confirmed as 8+2 so bang on what I thought. The 2nd sonographer said because they are so small at this stage the first time could have been more curled up so didn’t get full measurement. Try not to worry early scans can’t be too accurate which is why nhs wait until 12 weeks x

Thank you everyone, all of your comments have made me feel so much h better 🤍
