I need some non judgmental advice

I keep getting either thrush or BV and it’s when I wash my underwear with soap powder. Or if I put bubble bath in the bath and I’m not sure whyyyyyy. Literally EVERYTHING!!! Triggers it. Even semen and I don’t know why. Im fed up of taking treatment for it. Does anyone on here have any tips on why I maybe getting it frequently? I’ve a very hygienic person but the slightest of scents trigger my PH Balance and then I get either or and I’m FED UPPPP. HELPP A GIRL OUT PLEASEEEEE. I’m over the age of 25 and I’ve never had my Smear test and I’m just wondering if maybe that could help me a little to find out why. I’ve been tested so I know I don’t have nothing sexually transmitted as far as the standard testing but I’m just over it. I get it at least 2 twice a year

I think some are just more prone to it. I am one of them

Just the advice on the NHS website, don't use bubble bath and don't use a washing powder that you know triggers it. I used to suffer with this and it can get into a repeating cycle, but it has stopped now. There is hope! Antibiotics for bv trigger thrush unfortunately so you may need to be on an anti thrush medication while taking antibiotics, subject to what your doctor thinks. Other than that, being healthy in general, not drinking too much etc I think helps (though I have no evidence for this just common sense). Good luck

Try and avoid perfume stuff down there like using scented panty liners /period pads. Use feminine care wash for down there and maybe try switching to non bio washing pods apparently it's good for sensitive parts of the body. Have you had a swab done at your GP? X

I use to have this issue and I would take probiotics aimed for vaginal health and it seemed to help a little 🤷‍♀️

Probiotic pills can help Taking too many antibiotics kills both your good and bad bacteria so you can end up in a cycle of being super sensitive It happened with me and everything irritated me

Maybe try to discard everything that triggers it externally like scents, products and underwear and then try to consume a lot of yogurt, sauerkraut or rejuvelac and cranberry juice.

I don’t have advice beyond what’s been said but PLEASE get your smear done, they are super quick but it can save lives.

Try Washing with femfresh nothing with scent or perfume and non bio washing powder, cotton underwear only and wash with water only after sex x

I had thrush consistently through my 3rd pregnancy, nothing worked. Unfortunately I just had to use clotrimozole creams until baby was born 😪

Get tested for ureaplasma or mycoplasma - many people with your symptoms often do not get diagnosed as the NHS do not test for these bacteria’s unfortunately

Hey! Even though BV is not a sexually transmitted disease, it can be sexually transmitted from your partner. If you have the funds, download DrHouse app and schedule a video call with a provider for BV. They will prescribe you meds like Flagyl and you can pick it up locally from pharmacy. Download GoodRX as well for medication coupons. The medication is usually $10 at max, just depending on what pharmacy you choose. If you cannot afford the video call and meds, purchase FemiClear BV med over the counter. Don’t have sex while on it.

Don’t use fragrance or scents or nothing down there that’s what you’re doing wrong all the vagina needs is water, inside is self cleansing and outside only needs water. Semen and blood do change the PH of the vagina also so unless you are TTC don’t let him cum inside, try not to use tampons either. Cotton undies and go commando at night no undies.

@Hayley I think femfresh causes BV x

Non bio. Zero Sanex shower gel . Use toilet straight after sex . Sleep naked. When you shave , wax or hair removal cream put nappy cream on.

Drink water . That's it .

@Tamsin really? 🤦🏼‍♀️ how come? X

@Hayley says on NHS website for BV, under "don'ts", don't use vaginal washes. Imagine like other things they say not to use it interferes with the vagina's naturalness https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bacterial-vaginosis/

@Tamsin thanks for the heads up x
