Birth control.. which is better?

I’ve been on the mini pill for about 2 months now and I’m still having heavy bleeding. My ob/gyn recommended either the depo-provera shot or an IUD. I have never had either of these before. So I don’t know much about them. If anyone has been on either of these could you share your experiences?

I got pregnant on the depo injection so don't personally recommend it

I have the nexplanon injection. It's a rod the size of a matchstick in my arm that lasts 3 to 5 years. I don't really need to think about it.

I have had the rod in my arm, been on the pill and just got the IUD a few months ago, abit of spotting for the first few weeks but I haven’t had a period since, it’s great, best one I’ve had x

@Daniella if you don't mind me asking, what type of IUD did you get? I've only ever had ones with hormones but am now wondering if I should do the copper one to avoid hormones (currently breastfeeding)

@Skye merena is progestin only for breastfeeding moms
