Experiences on the mini pill (POP)?

I had a massive bleeding from HELL while on the mini pill. Worse than any period I’ve ever had 💀 even my pp bleeding was lighter. And it only stopped 1/2 days after I stopped taking it. Combined pill works very well for me xx

I had continuous bleeding the whole time I was on it. It really messed with me emotionally too. Everything either made me cry or snap! I stopped taking it and within a week was totally back to normal

I went on the mini pill just after having my baby last year. It was great for me. I didn't have any side effects: no bleeding, bloating, mood swings or acne. My sex drive did decrease, but I don't know if that was the pill or being post partum. I stopped taking it a couple of months ago so I can try for another baby, but I'll definitely go back on it.

I don't like any pills now, they lower your libido which annoys me!thankfully I've got an appointment now for another coil to be fitted thank god!

I had some weight gain but not much. I also had a decrease in sex drive but also not much. I'm pretty sure the emotional struggles I'm having are from being postpartum and off my meds 🙃 I don't think that's from the pill. I'd say I have had a good experience overall and will continue taking it until I'm ready to ttc again

i was on this pill for about 4 years, it stopped my periods completely which at the time i was pleased about, but wouldn't like now. the first 3 months were horrendous emotionally for me, i was anxious and upset constantly, and then i think my mood settled down after that, but never totally to where i had been before being on the pill if that makes sense. like my baseline anxiety was so much higher than it had been previously. i felt a million times better after stopping taking it, which could be some kind of placebo effect, but i definitely did feel that way xx

I bled every 2 weeks to the day one was a 5/7 day then a 3 day in-between.... 3rd month I was pregnant 🙄😭 I'm 12 weeks now with unplanned baby number 3, I can say I wasn't happy 🤣 x

Currently up with my newborn who was created on the mini pill! 🙃

Take it AT THE SAME TIME EVERY DAY! Unless you're cool with an oops baby!

@Haley currently lying next to my 13 month old. Unable to get comfortable due to my being 25 weeks pregnant with a mini pill baby.

For me it caused breakthrough bleeding, acne, vaginal dryness, low mood and lack of libido. Still the best I've tried out of 8 or so hormonal contraceptives 🙃

Sorry clicked bad by accident I have gone on it recently as my periods are soooo bad I did bleed for weeks at first but now it’s fine

@Brianne I did! Every day without fail and I'm 12 weeks today 🤣 nothing is 100% and that's basically what the midwife and consultants told me. I'm getting sterilised after this baby tho it's my 3rd csection and I'm high risk x

The mini pill that was supposed to be safe did cause a clot for me. Fortunately it was small. If you haven't had clotting with other hormonal BC then you likely don't need to worry about it with the mini pill. It's a rare side effect.

@Laura I too am having my tubes removed after this baby. She is my fourth and this pregnancy it's ROUGH. I was recommended to not have anymore after my son because my midwives knew it would be extremely difficult on my body. Oops!

@Brianne I was meant to be sterilised they cancelled the operation 2 months later I found I was pregnant 🙄 I terminated that pregnancy then went on the pill thinking I'd be safe I was on it fot 13 years and never fell pregnant and that time I was rubbish at taking it missed loads etc never even a scare 🤣 This time took it religiously and I've fallen pregnant but the termination really effected Me last time and now its effecting me in pregnancy but I'm having this one and then il get them to sterilise me at the same time as my csection x
