Yes you gotta cut a lot out of your diet and take your thyroid medication… even just losing 5-10lbs can jump start your period

I don’t have hypothyroidism however I have lost my period for a year 2 different times.

@Cassandra how did you get it back?

@Deliaha what kind of diet?

@Mara a low carb no sugar diet

The first time I went to the fertility clinic and as part of the work up I had to do a hysterosalpingogram (HSG). ometimes when you have these done your period gets jump started from them squirting contrast up you. A couple months after though my dad passed which I read in a book that it can cause your period to disappear. The only thing that kept me going for a little bit last year was progesterone I had to take for 10 days every month and then I had letrozole to try and get pregnant. But in Jan. 2023 I had a cyst rupture and was in the ER. So my doc said no more letrozole. Last august my period disappeared again and I tried the progesterone again this year and it didn’t work at all this time so my doc sent in a months worth of birth control and it took me like 3 months to accept that this was probably going to be where I needed to start in order to get things going again. I just got off my period like a week or two ago. Lmk if you want to know what I’ve been eating I’ve lost 11 lbs.

@Deliaha excellent!

Carbs are good for you don’t do that. You need to be getting the good carbs in still.

@Cassandra when you have Pcos all carbs aren’t good for you

@Cassandra I don’t have trouble with weight. I know my diet can be improved. I’m gluten free

Actually not true . There are a few that are good for you I worked with a holistic gal that uses Chinese medicine and it works

@Cassandra yes but only in moderation

Missing periods for months isn’t uncommon when thyroid levels are off. It’s important to get your thyroid hormones under control first, usually with meds like levothyroxine. Once your levels are balanced, your periods should regulate, and it’ll be easier to track ovulation and try for a baby. Lift your body adjust itself by not creating extra stress about it go with the flow of life
