MYRENA IUD, GOOD OR BAD?? 🤔

Hi loves so im 2 months pp and am getting my IUD put in. Im not having sex n have zero plans to but i want to prepare for my period when it decides to show its ugly head (mine have always been excruciatingly painful to the point i pass out) i did have a mini period around two weeks ago n it was okayish but i had a postpartum haemorrhage during labour n someone told me my periods could be worse now after having bby? 🙂‍↕️ i defo dont want that. Im ebf and want to know if the the hormonal one affected anyone’s supply or baby? My apt to have it put in is next week but now in second guessing myself even though Ive had it in before. Pic of my bubba so this doesn’t get lost

I got the mirina IUD at seven weeks postpartum and so far I have not had any issues. No issues with my milk supply because I am breast-feeding no issues with bleeding and it didn’t hurt me to get it put in either and I got one that’s good for I believe five years

I definitely do not suggest getting an IUD terrible experience I was in constant pain but with the nexplanon and I don't have a period I don't have any of that. I'm planning on having the hospital put one in before I leave the hospital. I got one after my first born and it didn't affect my supply or anything but I definitely would not suggest the IUD

I’ve had it twice the same one and I think it’s been great. I would definitely try it and after a couple months if it doesn’t work then get it taken out but I would for sure try it

I have it. Had it since march. No issues feeding baby. No issues at all tbh

I was 7 weeks pp when I got mine and it's been great. I've been spotting which is normal up to 6 months of having it fitted. But it's made things super good for me, as I suffer from heavy bleeding and endometriosis

@Courtani Thomas thankies!

@Joy i never had that one, is it hormonal or chemical? That sounds terrible

@Gabrielle good call ty!

@Aimee im glad

@Star good to know!!

@Bubbles I had the mirena IUD and it definitely was painful I had it removed like the week after I had gotten it. I was in so much pain I could hardly get out of bed.

I did ask for nexplanon after my baby was born but my ob kept saying he didn't have time to put nexplanon in and hence baby number 3 which will be here in 3 days. Nexplanon isn't as bad as some people make it out to be I don't think I had the hormone one but after my first they did give me one and I only had about a week of postpartum bleeding so it wasn't too bad.

No issues with my supply at all.

I had one and didn’t affect my supply at all. Saying that personally after the first few months I was just constantly spotting. I would only have one or two days a month with nothing so didn’t really agree with me in that way. But I’ve heard it’s been great for so many people with many not even getting periods on it.

@Joy im sorry love :(
