Contraceptive pill

Hey guys, I have recently started the DESOGESTREL pill but lately been having a period every 10-14 days for 5 days. I also get headaches, dizziness when I stand and bruise very easily (I imagine my iron is low so will be requesting bloods). But was just wondering if anyone else experienced this when on this pill? I’m wondering if I am going to have to stop this contraception too. When I was on the pill at about 15 I had no issues, went to the implant for ease but 4 years later I started getting gynae issues, we tried the coil but pre baby they were unable to fit it. Now post baby the doctors have said they think the coil will worsen my symptoms and just keep changing my pill 😩 I don’t know if as well I am just over thinking everything because I have to go for a colposcopy after my smear results.

I was on this pill and it just didn’t agree with me at all! Pretty much constant bleeding , very irregular periods, painful cramps , i ended up pregnant on it so not needing to worry about contraception for the next little while 😂 could speak to your doctor about other pills? I used to use gedarel which worked perfectly for me but got taken off due to high BP xx

@Jade thank you! And omg I don’t think I could trust a pill ever again 🙈🤣 I have just been swapped from rigevidon because that didn’t agree with me, maybe I will discuss seeing if a different one works 😅

I’ve just started it it’s made me have awful headaches and like electric shock in my head and eyes , it’s awful and I’m moody but I get married in 2 days so can’t stop taking it because I don’t want to come on 😂😫

I had a very similar experience when I went back on the mini pill after having my first. After 6 months I ended up having the coil fitted. I had my coil removed after 2 years as it just wasn't working for me, I then went straight back onto the mini pill and have had absolutely no issues with it. No bleeding at all, and I've been on it a year! I came off it a month ago to try for baby number 2

@Emma I’m sorry your also getting bad symptoms!! Really hope it eases for your wedding, and congratulations!! I definitely don’t think I’m going to stay on this one Xxx

@Chelsey thank you!! Maybe will have to switch and come back on it when I was 15 it was absolutely fine from what I can remember. So bizzare how these things decide to work 🤦‍♀️
